Hey there, Executive!

I want to talk to you about a window that’s quietly closing. One that could make a big difference for your clients and your advisory positioning.

A major piece of the home energy improvement credit is officially on its way out.

As of July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act repealed generous credits for residential energy upgrades—credits that have helped homeowners save up to $3,200 a year. You’ve got until December 31, 2025 to help your clients act.

Now, you might be wondering: Why are we focusing on this inside The Executive Touch?

Because the advisors who thrive long-term aren’t just “aware” of tax reform. They’re already educating their clients on it.

They’re leveraging these last-chance moments to build trust, earn more, and offer strategic recommendations that go beyond filing returns.

This is your moment to lead and I’m showing you how inside the community.

Love Letter to Tax Pros 💌

We can’t wait to have you in our weekly gatherings! Here’s our Power Hours for the week:

📍 Wednesday at 2PM CST: Tax Representation Power Hour
📍 Friday at 2:30PM CST: Tax Planning Power Hour

You know we’re big on inviting real voices into the room.

Just last week, I ran into Lee Johnson over lunch. (Total serendipity.)

I invited him right on the spot to speak to our members about how to build business credit without using SSNs. Within days, he was on Zoom, sharing gold with the community.

It was a reminder of what makes this community different.

We stay nimble. We move fast. And we act in real-time to get you the knowledge that matters now—not three months from now in a replay.

💬 Tyrone said it best: “Take my classes over and over if needed.”
Because mastery isn’t about checking a box once. It’s about repetition, conversation, and doing.

Highlights of our last Board Meeting:

(Replay available to all The Executive Touch Members!)

  • I shared that my tax planning presentation included entity-specific strategies and compliance insights—and we’ll release a full Part 1 & 2 replay available to all our members.

  • Tyrone reminded members to understand the process vs. receive dates on transcripts—essential for correct IRS dispute framing.

  • His full Offer in Compromise training is available to members with detailed guidance, such as:

    • How to structure packages

    • Importance of order, presentation, and color

    • Practical post-submission steps

  • The community celebrated the recent Jamaica retreat: yoga, excursions, strategy workshops, and bonding moments made it unforgettable.

  • Highlights included the studio tour, powerful team building, and deep training—despite some tech issues.

  • Angie shared a complex real-world offer case: a nurse with no withholding during the pandemic now owes $300K.

  • Despite challenges (high equity, age, income), they plan to submit a $151K offer—demonstrating creative problem-solving even in “tough” profiles.

  • Lesson: Even with difficult IRS profiles, strategy can make a difference when guided by expert judgment.

For over a year now, The Executive Touch has grown into more than a membership. It’s a proving ground for advanced strategies.

It’s a support system for the real-world challenges of running a tax or advisory firm.

It’s a lab for testing what works in high-end tax strategy - and a space to unlearn what’s holding us back.

If you’re reading this and you’ve been craving a higher standard—not just in tax work, but in the business you’re building—this is your invitation to keep going.

Because you’re not alone. Not anymore.

⚡ Knowledge Deep Dive: Why This Tax Credit Still Matters

Let’s break this down: If your client installs qualifying upgrades to their home—like insulation, windows, heat pumps, or energy-efficient appliances—they can claim up to $3,200 in credits for 2025.

Yes, it’s a non-refundable credit, but for many clients, it functions like a $13,000 deduction if they’re in the 24% tax bracket. And yes, it applies to second homes for certain improvements too (think: that vacation rental they Airbnb a few weekends a year).

Here’s what you should know:

  • $1,200 of the credit is for insulation, windows, doors, ACs, and electrical upgrades

  • $2,000 more is available for installing high-efficiency heat pumps and similar systems

  • A separate $150 credit applies for certified home energy audits

But here’s the kicker: This all disappears after Dec 31, 2025.
And installing these systems takes time—especially with supply chain backups and booking contractors.

✅ Translation: You can’t wait until December. Your clients need to act now.
And they need a tax pro who brings strategy—not just software and a signature.🧠

What We Believe: Strategy is Power, but the Right Environment is Everything

Every finance professional talks about staying sharp. But in The Executive Touch, we go beyond sharpened skills—we talk about precision in decision-making, positioning, and pricing. We break down not just what the code says—but how to actually think like a tax strategist, not a technician.

We’ve found that while tax law doesn’t change much at its core, how professionals navigate it absolutely does.

And that’s why the environment matters. Inside our community, members aren’t just watching pre-recorded lectures or posting into dead forums. They’re:

  • Joining live office hours with Angie Toney and vetted experts.

  • Engaging in real-time dialogue about client situations, pricing dilemmas, and strategic structuring.

  • Gaining confidence to pitch premium clients with authority—because they’ve seen the strategy work, step by step.

The result? You’re not learning isolated tactics. You’re being shaped by a circle that thinks like you, pushes you, and reflects your values back to you.

That’s rare.

🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 The Scenarios You Need to Explain to Clients & What Tax Pros Can Do Now

Here’s where tax strategy meets real-life situations — the exact thing we break down during our Power Hours inside The Executive Touch every week.

Let’s talk about a few scenarios:

  • A client replaces two doors and installs an energy-efficient AC unit — but doesn’t understand why they’re capped at $1,200 even though their spend was much higher.

  • Another client installs an $8,000 heat pump in their vacation home — and assumes the credit doesn’t apply. (It does — and it’s a separate $2,000 annual limit!)

  • A business owner installs upgrades in a home office — but they use more than 20% of the home for work, reducing their eligible credit.

  • A client accepts a rebate from their utility company — and accidentally overstates the amount of their credit on their return.

If you aren’t prepping your clients on this now, they’ll be coming back to you frustrated and surprised during tax season.

We don’t want that.

If you want to retain long-term clients and confidently offer forward-thinking advice, proactive education is your edge.

✅ Audit their current eligibility (especially for homeowners planning improvements this year)
✅ Educate them on what counts, what’s capped, and what has to be installed by December 31
✅ Create a checklist they can give to contractors to ensure components meet IRS and Energy Star standards
✅ If possible, advise them to spread improvements over two years to maximize the multiyear benefit
✅ Encourage qualified energy audits — not mandatory, but a value-add

This is where being a tax strategist goes beyond filing. It’s positioning. It’s guidance. It’s reputation.

You’re doing your practice a huge strategy by learning the right strategies that every PREMIUM client needs.

When “I’ll Learn Later” Costs You

I get it. Life’s busy. The tax code changes constantly. And you’re probably wearing all the hats right now.

But here’s the truth I see play out every single week:
The pros who wait to learn “when they need it” are always behind.

The type of pros I meet inside The Executive Touch are the ones clients chase down—not the other way around.

They don’t just know about credits like these. They’re:

  • Coaching clients through decisions

  • Helping contractors document installs

  • Positioning this as part of a broader tax planning service

Closing Thought 🎯

Here’s what I want you to walk away with:

Tax strategy isn’t just a knowledge game. It’s a timing game. When the law changes, the ones who act fast win the trust - and the check.

You don’t need to do it alone.

If you’re not offering this guidance, someone else is. Let’s make sure it’s you.

You’ve got a community here that shows up every week, asks tough questions, and learns how to implement—not just memorize.

You’ve made it this far in the newsletter, and I’m so glad you did. Whether you’ve been following me for weeks or this is your first time here, I want you to know this:

🌱 Your clients aren’t hiring you for tax forms. They’re hiring you for clarity.

🔥 And when you have the right community, the right pricing, and the right mindset?

You can turn your practice into something you’re proud of.
